Manic Monday: Jackie Kennedy

Monday, March 23, 2015

If you asked me to name my top three style icons, Jackie Kennedy would definitely be one. Like Anna, the 60s is my favorite decade and Jackie O pulled off the trends of the 60s impeccably. Her coats, pearls, suits, and dresses were always classy and incredibly chic. Even in her old age, she continued to look stylish.  While she has many iconic outfits, I decided to feature her in coats (and one outfit I just couldn't resist throwing in) because I plan on using a vintage coat in my outfit inspired by her. If you want to see my vintage coat and how I style it, stop by on Thursday!

Manic Monday: Florals

Sunday, March 8, 2015

With Spring officially starting next week I felt floral was an appropriate Manic Monday inspiration for this week. I specifically love all these prints featured because they are not the stereotypical floral print. The two from Rach Martino  have a more vintage vibe and the middle and two right have a richer more sophisticated quality to them. While florals for spring is not unexpected, my floral piece is not your typical floral print, so be sure to check in on Thursday to see my take on florals for spring!

Manic Monday: Bindemane for Paade Mode AW15

A cute outfit is just a cute outfit but when on a kid it gets just that little bit more endearing and playful that you can't help but love it. That's why my inspiration for this week's Manic Monday is Paade Mode's autumn and winter 2015 collection. I love its' fun vintage vibe along with its' quirky professionalism.  There are so many things I love about it I'm not quite sure what outfit I want to create inspired by it. From the blazers to the button ups and the head turban, I love it all! Regardless of what I choose I can assure you it will all be budget friendly so be sure to check back on Thursday to see what I decided to do with this week's inspiration!

P.S.- If you want to see more children dressed in amazingly adorable outfits then you should check out this Pinterest board of mine!

Manic Monday: Pleated Midi Skirt

Having a pear shaped body can often present a challenge for trying different trends. Some trends just aren't flattering and most of them popular with my age group do not lend themselves to larger body types. Midi skirts are one of the trends that does not present this challenge. They are not only more modest than the mini (obviously), but they are also significantly more flattering on me. I especially love these accordion pleated midi skirts which have some structure while still being breezy and feminine. I lucked out while thrifting last month and happened to find my own pleated midi skirt so if you want to see how I styled it, check back on Thursday!

Manic Monday: Lace-Up Flats

I love subtle statements and I really think these black lace-up flats are just that. Because they are a neutral they do not draw too much attention, and the straps aren't obtrusive either. They can go with virtually anything and I think they add just enough pizzazz without being over the top. I especially love how Laura Fantacci over at Wearing It Today styled her Aquazzura flats ( 1 // 2 // 3 ). If you want to learn how to make your own version check out my post on Thursday!

Manic Monday: Kate Spade Spring 2015

As Valentine's Day quickly approaches, I find that instead of dwelling on my singleness, it is much more uplifting to think about my one true love, shopping. And clothes. Both of which always seem to put a smile on my face. Kate Spade's 2015 Spring collection was no exception.

Manic Monday: Mad about Plaid

Monday, February 2, 2015

Plaid is easily one of my favorite patterns of fall and winter. It has a very cozy yet traditional feel that  reminds me of Christmas, my favorite time of year. While spring does not technically start until March 20th, Florida has decided to feel like it has. The mornings have a slight chill, but during the day it definitely warms up. Regardless, I continue to remind myself that it is technically winter, and I can wear plaid if I want to.  And with the wide variety of clothing pieces plaid comes in, I have plenty of options. I can't promise that my outfits will be tailored to the weather here but I like them anyways and still plan on wearing them, so if you want to see plaid styled on a budget, check back in on Thursday!

Manic Monday: Emma Stone

Monday, January 26, 2015

I think most Floridians aren't truly prepared for "winter".  While our winter is nowhere near an actual winter, it is still somewhat different from our seemingly nine-month long summer. For the beginning of this week, the weather will be in the sixties so I am looking to Emma Stone for inspiration on this Manic Monday.

Emma Stone consistently creates the perfectly layered look with cute collared shirts, sweaters, and coats. Layers are perfect especially for school when you go both inside and outside all day. If you want to see how I styled a similar look on a budget, tune back in on Thursday!
